Congratulations to our U-14 premier side who ended the season in fantastic style on Tuesday night when they won the U-14 local cup in front of a large attendance at Turner's Cross.

The team have played better as each round went on and definitely saved their best for the final. The game itself took a while to get really going as both teams looked to be affected by the  occasion and playing in a cup final.

The game really sparked into life mid way through the first half when Leeds got a free kick just inside the half way line and Ryan Meany scored directly from the free kick for the opener. This saw both teams up their game as the first half ended. In the second half Leeds really increased the intensity of their play and deservedly got a second when James O Sullivan finished to the top of the net from close range. Corinthians had a decent spell of pressure as they chased the game and got a goal before Mark Dooley netted within two minutes to make it 3-1 to Leeds. Another goal for Mark was disallowed for offside to leave the final score at 3-1 to Leeds. Liam O Connor was very safe and must be one of the best keepers in Cork Schoolboys soccer at present. Eric Healy, Sean Keane and Kelvin Thompson were rock solid at the back along with man of the match winner Ryan Meany. In midfield, Brian Goulding played and led like a great captain alongside Luke Forde, Conor Kelleher and Aaron O Brien. Up front Mark Dooley and James O Sullivan were a constant threat. Dylan Murray, Lorcan Cahoon, Daniel O Mahony, Cian Browne all made an appearance towards the end of the game with Dean Cummins as replacement keeper on the night. So after a long season Leeds U-14 retain the cup which was also won by Leeds U-14 last year. Great scenes of celebration took place on the field and in the dressing room after the game and a special thanks to all club committee members for their varied contributions on the night.
